Installation Guide

Method 1: WordPress Dashboard

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  3. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page
  4. Choose the WooCopy AI zip file and click Install Now
  5. After installation, click Activate Plugin

Method 2: FTP Upload

  1. Unzip the WooCopy AI plugin package
  2. Upload the woocopy-ai folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  3. Go to your WordPress Dashboard
  4. Navigate to Plugins and activate WooCopy AI

Note: WooCopy AI requires WooCommerce to be installed and activated.

Configuration

Setting Up Your API Key

  1. Go to OpenRouter.ai and create an account
  2. Generate an API key from your OpenRouter dashboard
  3. In your WordPress admin, go to WooCopy AI > Settings
  4. Enter your API key in the designated field
  5. Click Validate API Key to ensure it works correctly
  6. Save your settings

Selecting an AI Model

WooCopy AI supports various AI models through OpenRouter:

  • OpenAI GPT-3.5 Turbo - Good balance of quality and cost
  • OpenAI GPT-4o - Premium model with highest quality (Premium)
  • Google Gemini Pro - Excellent free alternative
  • Meta Llama 3 - Another good free option
  • Anthropic Claude - Various models with different capabilities
  • Mistral - Range of models from free to premium

Tip: If you don't want to pay for API usage, select models with "Free" in their name. Be aware that OpenRouter has daily usage limits.

Single Product Generation

Generating Product Features

  1. Edit any WooCommerce product
  2. Scroll down to find the WooCopy AI Description Generator box
  3. Click Generate Features to automatically create product features based on the title
  4. Review the generated features and edit them if needed
  5. You can also manually add or remove features using the provided buttons

Generating Descriptions

  1. After generating or entering product features, click either:
    • Generate Short Description - Creates a concise 50-100 word description
    • Generate Long Description - Creates a detailed 200-300 word description
  2. The AI will use the product title and features to create a compelling description
  3. The generated content will be automatically inserted into the appropriate WooCommerce description field
  4. Review and edit the description as needed before publishing

Important: Always review AI-generated content before publishing to ensure accuracy and brand voice consistency.

Bulk Generation

Generating Descriptions for Multiple Products

  1. Go to Products > All Products in your WordPress admin
  2. Select the checkboxes next to the products you want to generate descriptions for
  3. From the Bulk Actions dropdown, select one of the following:
    • Generate Short Descriptions with AI
    • Generate Long Descriptions with AI
  4. Click Apply
  5. Wait for the process to complete - you'll see a success message when finished

Bulk Generation Limitations

  • Bulk generation uses only the product title for context (not features)
  • Processing time depends on the number of products and the selected AI model
  • Be mindful of OpenRouter API usage limits when doing large bulk operations

Tip: For best results, bulk generate descriptions for products in the same category to maintain consistency.

Analytics Dashboard

Accessing Analytics

Go to WooCopy AI > Analytics in your WordPress admin to view your usage statistics.

Available Metrics

  • Total Generations - Number of descriptions generated
  • Total Tokens Used - API token usage (affects billing on OpenRouter)
  • Average Generation Time - How long it takes to generate descriptions
  • Generations by Model - Breakdown of which AI models you've used
  • Generations by Type - Distribution of features, short descriptions, and long descriptions
  • Recent Generations - List of your most recent generation activities
